In February 2018, Mr. Garnett walked into The ARTS and wanted to know if we taught art classes. He expressed that he was retired and he had always wanted to learn how to paint and use other mediums. As a busy artist and business owner, I was not so sure about my own artistic ability to create or teach. I had not created a piece of work in some months. We talked a few weeks later and set up the initial class and we have not looked back since. He is progressing as an artist. This portrait is of his mother whom is 89 years of age and will be celebrating a birthday in July. It will be given to her as a gift. Mr. Garnett is beyond proud of himself and so am I. I've learned so much from him as he has learned so much from me.
